JUDGING LIST

 

Judging List Criteria 2022

​

A1 Specialist/Non Specialist:

For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed and have completed their first appointment and have the support of the Midland Collie Club

​

A2 Specialist/Non Specialist:

For persons who fulfill all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of the Midland Collie Club

​

A3 Specialist:

Minimum of 10 years judging experience in the breed and have the support of the Midland Collie Club 

 

To have judged a minimum of 120 dogs of the breed in accordance with current Kennel Club requirements

 

To have attended a seminar given by a KC accredited trainer and passed the relevant examination 'Requirements of a Dog Show Judge'

 

To have attended a seminar given by a KC accredited trainer on Conformation & Movement

​

To have attended a seminar given by a KC accredited trainer on Points of the Dog and passed the assessment

​

To have bred and/or owned a minimum of THREE dogs when they obtained their first entry in the KC Stud Book 

​

To have attended at least one ROUGH COLLIE breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed examination AND assessment

​

To have stewarded for 12 days at shows 

​

A3 Non Specialist:

Minimum of 7 years judging experience in any one breed (to include 5 years in this breed) and have the support of the MCC 

​

To have judged 120 dogs in this breed in accordance with current Kennel Club requirements

​

To have awarded CCs in at least one other breed (KC Policy)

​

To have attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed examination AND assessment

​

B List Specialist:

To have 7 years experience owning and exhibiting Rough Collies and have the support of the Midland Collie Club

To have judged 60 Rough Collies

​

To have judged 20 classes of Rough Collies at open shows

​

To have attended at least one ROUGH COLLIE breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed examination AND assessment

​

To have stewarding experience

​

B List Non Specialist:

To have 5 years experience owning/exhibiting any breed in the working or pastoral groups and have the support of the Midland Collie Club

​

To have judged 60 Rough Collies

​

To have judged 20 classes of Rough Collies at open shows

​

To have attended at least one ROUGH COLLIE breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant KC Code of Best Practice and passed examination AND assessment

​

To have stewarding experience

​

C List Specialist/Non Specialist:

All other persons whom the club will support to judge the breed at all breed open shows.

​

From 1 January 2021, no one can judge unless they meet the new Kennel Club JEP Level 1 requirements which are stated below:

  • Minimum of 5 years proven interest in pedigree dogs

  • Attend a Requirements of a Dog Show Judge seminar (but not mandatory to take and pass examination)

  • Attend a Conformation and Movement seminar

  • Complete a minimum of 2 stewarding appointments
